  • Sentences that start with "I"

School's been over for a while and many events have occured.

Grades are pretty good and I am in summer school (University of the Pacific in Stockton) right now.  Finished two classes and on my last two.  I love college!
I have learned a lot about who I am and my priorities.  Studies is a big one and I am trying to increase health, music, and friends.

I joined Sigma Alpha Iota, a professional women's music sorority.  I enjoy making new friends, learned different perspectives in life, and making music.  I love my Big, Irene Cho!

I have been practicing piano a lot lately; to improve, for fun, and to express myself.

I am living with two other music therapy majors off-campus.  One of the has a cat, which I was allergic too; however, I no longer am.  I just do not want to come in contact with him.

I worked New Student Orientation and that was a blast.  I loved getting to know and befriending the new students and I cannot wait until school starts to see them again.

I went to a music convention with Candice and we had a great learning experience in teaching and playing music.  I was inspired by the 8 year old boy who won the concerto competition.  He had a pedal stool, seat cushion, and only played the piano for two years.

I am thinking about composing a piece by the end of this summer or school year, depending on my free time.

I miss certain friends.  Then again, I like summer to be by myself to get away from people.  I like to attend to my needs and "to-do" list.

I wonder if promises are going to be kept and for how long.  Are they true intentions?  Will they be called out?

A new friend from Orientation came up to Stockton and visited me.  We explored Stockton together.  Lots of fun to see and learn more about Stockton.  An effort to see me. Hmm.
What about your promise to visit me?

I have been working out due to a small increase in weight (less than fifteen pounds) from the first year in college.

Summer school ends in two weeks.  Then I am off to New York with family and family's friends.  I miss my brother, though he no guilt in trying to acuse me of condescending him.  I am here to help and watch out for him.

After that, I go back to school for Resident Assistant training and Associated Students of University of the Pacific retreat.  I hope that I have enough time in the school year to have fun with other activities including music, friends, and of course, my boyfriend called homework.

I miss martial arts and teaching it.  I hope to have more time for it because I want to continue my journey to a black belt and an instructor.

I miss wrestling and working out.  I miss dripping sweat from my underwear.

  • Missing, of significant value to me:
*black "Karate Girl" t-shirt (last worn at Nationals in Michigan or during Karate camp)

*black "Lowell Wrestling" beanie (last worn senior year)

If you know anything, even if they are stuck in Michigan, please let me know.  Misplaced clothes is driving me crazy.

I miss my Karate Girl shirt.  I won it at a kata tournament against black belts.

The beanie for Wrestler of the Week, when I took 3rd at Regionals junior year.

Where did my clothes disappear too?

  • Winter break is here!  Lots of fun ahead, including, friends, cleaning, and music!

Wrestling practice today was fun.  Wrestled a male newbie who thought he could take an out of shape GIRL.  Experience and skills dominate.  I pinned him thrice!  I miss wrestling, sweating, and tournaments.

    (Me talking to myself.)
The wrestling coach from Menlo College asked me to transfer and wrestle for him when I saw him at the girls tournament on Saturday.  That school has no music.  It has wrestling, but no music.  Pscyhology is decent there.  But what about education?  I am not sure if it is worth it.  It would be very cool to wrestle again.  But is that part of my life over?  Do I want to continue to watch every ounce of my weight, be dehydrated that my skin is gross, and to be hungry all the time?  I don't know.  I have never taken first, didn't place in State Championships, or in Nationals.  Will I be an hinderance to the team?  But it would be very cool to have trained under an Olympic wrestler.

Music?  I love listening, playing, and making music.  It makes me smile and cry at the same time.  What about my double major?  What about music composition?  I really love my friends at the Conservatory too.  I know I would have a hard time leaving them.

I wish that I did not spread myself so thin that I was okay in everything that I do and not great.  Life has so many opportunities that I took them.  At least I can say that I tried it and not have to ponder later in life what it would be like.

What about Pacific Strokes Rowing Club?  I am in training to be a coxswain.

Also helping to start up a Psychology Fraternity.  What about that?

I think that I have planted my roots deep into Pacific that it would be difficult to leave.  Or is it?

Can I still wrestle somewhere and still be at the University of the Pacific?

  • As people communicate with words to each other, musicians communicate through their instrument.  The instrument becomes a channel which the musician expresses their emotion.  In a sense, if you listen and watch carefully, you can tell what mood the musician is in.  Even when playing a happy song, a musician can express their saddness through the style and techniques used.  That's why I love music so much.  Whenever I am upset or sad, I go to my piano and just play.  After an hour or so, I leave my saddness behind and am feeling much better.  It is like talking to your best friend through your hands and body, without words.  Friends will not always be there, but your instrument will.  They will not advise us or sympathize us, but allow us to be and help through the tough times.  Music is truly the best medicine.  Next to laughter.
